Project Description

Introduction to management online training

Summary of course: Safeguarding is everyone’s business. Every organisation must appoint a designated person to lead on this responsibility and support staff who encounter safeguarding issues in the course of their work. The role of designated person can be challenging and unfamiliar to many, but is vital in protecting the organisation, its staff and the people you work with.

Course content: This safeguarding designated person course focuses on:

  • Identifying key skills and requirements for the role
  • The critical elements of a training audit and how to conduct one
  • The role and responsibilities of the designated person within the organisation
  • What support staff need and how to provide it
  • Engaging with the local safeguarding board
  • Linking with external agencies to support the designated person.

A review from one of our learners:

I needed to refresh my training in safeguarding children and also find a suitable designated person course as I was asked to take on this role for my department. I contacted TNTA as I could do both courses with them, online and in my own time, which removed a major headache! This course was brilliant for helping me to understand the skills I needed for this role, my responsibilities within the organisation and how I could support staff. When you are new to something it can be quite daunting but this course was easy to understand, had some great hints and tips and was broken down into manageable chunks. I worked through it in my own time and now feel confident and excited about my new role.
