Using and creating videos
Whether you are looking for information for yourself, or to give information to others, video’s are a great way of doing this.
If you are already a customer of TNTA you will know that we use video’s in most of our courses. They help us to get information across in a visual way, that not only engages the learner but is also very powerful, especially as we use real people telling real stories.
You will also be familiar with our safeguarding soundbites, short, simple video’s that give you a lot of really interesting and useful information in a short space of time.
If you are going to use video’s, here are a few hints and tips that might help:
- Think about using YouTube – YouTube has some fantastic video’s and they are free! There are so many to choose form and often, especially if you are using them to get a message or a point across, they have real people, telling real stories and sharing life experiences, so can be very powerful. Also, many people on YouTube are experts in their fields, so they can often get the information across in a better, clearer way than we could.
- If you are creating video’s yourself then download a software programme that can help you. There are some great ones out there. At TNTA we use ClipChamp Its free to use! This helps us to edit the video, take out background noise etc
- Use subtitles. Video editing software can help you with this. Using subtitles means that your video’s will be accessible to all, including the hard of hearing.
- Keep them short – At TNTA we try to keep our video’s to three minutes. This means that the people watching will be engaged, won’t lose interest and will retain the information they are receiving.
My passion is for learning, any age, anywhere, anytime. That is why I offer Interactive E-learning, Face to Face training, Microsoft Teams/Zoom training and consultancy services. Learning should be easy to organise, and more importantly fun!
The world is moving so fast these days, especially where technology is concerned, everything is mobile, what would we do without our mobile phones and tablets? Learning takes place every day, whether it’s from an article we read, an app we download or a conversation we have going about our everyday lives. We are always learning and developing.
