Course overview

A good Safeguarding policy makes it clear what your organisation will do to keep children and adults safe. It demonstrates ownership of the safeguarding agenda.

Safeguarding procedures are the detailed guidelines and instructions that support your safeguarding policy. They explain the steps that your organisation takes to keep children and adults safe.

Having a robust policy and clear procedures means that your staff will know what to do if they are concerned about anything happening to a child or adult.

Reviewing your policy and procedures is vital for ensuring they are up to date and fit for purpose, most importantly that your staff and volunteers understand what it expected of them. Auditing is equally as important, this looks at your safeguarding practice and areas for improvement.

This course is for anyone involved in writing, implementing, monitoring or evaluating safeguarding policies and procedures.
